Our Ethics and Values

Acknowledgement of Country

With respect we acknowledge the traditional custodian of the land on which we practice: the Tharawal people at Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School, Miranda. We offer our gratitude to the ancestors and to all who have cared for these lands.

Safety

We are committed to ensuring that all people who attend our centre are safe and feel welcome, regardless of meditation experience.

Environmental awareness

As part of our values at the Wombat Sangha we respect and honour our world environment as Moth Earth – Gaia. We bring dharma (spiritual teachings) together with Gaia to practice Dharma Gaia.

We particularly advocate for real action on global warming and climate change. We encourage people to make the lifestyle changes needed as we transition to a new carbon emission-free world.
